Scope of Practice

  • Installation of the new equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and equipment classification
  • Ensure all equipment must be included in hospital inventory, tagged and all related documents have been collected
  • All mandatory safety tests are done according to manufacturer recommendations
  • Perform operational training for the end-user and ensure it is carried out properly by a specialized engineer or application specialist
  • Maintain and follow up equipment warranties, recommendations updating and equipment upgrade
  • Perform equipment inspection, testing, calibration, and daily check
  • Ensure patient safety by monitoring equipment hazards, alerts or recalls
  • Planned preventive maintenance (Proactive maintenance), must be per manufacturer recommendations
  • Track and fix equipment failures (Corrective maintenance)
  • Operate, track and control systems which support the equipment (RO-Planet, vacuum system, and air compressor systems)
  • Ensure the safe range of water quality by frequent specialized tests
  • Apply and follow gas cylinders procedures
