Mobile Dental Clinic
Scope of Practice
- Provide oral healthcare awareness programs and initiatives
- Provide preventive and dental treatment services for the community, especially in the rural areas, low-income communities, elderly patients, orphans, and special needs patients (adults and children)
- Raising awareness and correcting misconceptions about oral and dental healthcare
- Conducting oral health surveys in order to assess the current oral health needs of the community, assess oral and dental diseases, and to determine the oral health care needs for the future
- Refer patients to the University Dental Hospital when needed
- Provide clinical training opportunities for interns under the supervision of staff from the Faculty of Dentistry and the University Dental Hospital
- Promoting and encouraging the healthcare volunteering concept
- Establish a database on oral and dental diseases that will be used for scientific research to facilitate and inform oral and dental health promotion strategies for the community
